Standard Bund Water Control Unit
The Darcy bund tector is a low maintenance automatic pumping system that constantly monitors the content of the bund, detects the difference between oil and water and safely pumps the water (rainwater containing less than 5mg of oil per litre) only out of the bund into the surface water drainage system. Only the reained oil then needs to be removed from the sump significantly reducing the number of visits by waste management companies thus providing significant cost savings, paying for itself in the first year. The bund tector is supplied complete with a control unit, submersible pump, together with a combined pump/probe assembly and a steel mounting stand.
Benefits:
- Signifcantly reduces waste management costs
- Reduced risk of expensive fines and clean up costs
- Quick return on investment
- Reduces disposal costs of contaminated water
- Low maintenance
- Meets with Pollution Prevention Guidelines and Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations 1999
- Maintains 110% capacity of bund
- Improve maintenance safety and help meet environmental regulations
- Provides a safe, dry working environment for site maintenance staff
- Demonstrates positive action for protecting the environment.
Application areas:
- Bunded areas surrounding Oil Storage Tanks
- Bunded areas surrounding Transformers
- Sumps or trenches in run off areas where oil could be stored or used
- Lift shafts
- In industries such as Power Generation, Electricity Distribution, Oil Containment, Transport and various manufacturing sectors
How the Darcy bund tector bund water control unit works
The pump and probe assembly is located in the sump of a bund. The probe sensors monitor the sump liquids for the presence of water or oil and water at pre-determined levels. The control panel switches the pump on and off to maintain liquids at the appropriate levels. The control panel raises an alarm when high water and excess oil levels are present in the sump or when there is a power failure.
The Darcy bund water control unit and its features
The standard system is supplied complete with a control unit and a combined pump/probe assembly. The control unit is capable of monitoring the probe unit to automatically empty the bund of water when the water level rises to the start probe, leaving any pollutant behind. The status is displayed via a liquid crystal display but due to this being inside the enclosure, it is advisable to utilise a local beacon/sounder and/or connect the output relays to a BMS system.
Features
- Submersible pump with stand and conductivity probe unit (supplied assembled as shown)
- High liquid level float switch (delay time configurable)
- Failsafe probe to prevent pollutant being pumped if stop probe fails
- Beacon output
- Displays the number of pump operations for servicing purposes (retained even if power fails)
- Five volt-free contact relay outputs for signalling of status to external equipment
Specifications
- Power: 230V ±10% 50Hz
